Storytimes

 

Storytime is for ages 2-5 yrs. Siblings are welcome. No registration is required. Our Summer Session kicks off on June 19 and will run on the following Wednesday mornings at 10:30 am:

Baby Lapsit

 

Our Summer Session of Baby Lapsit will be running every other Friday morning upstairs at the Library, June 14-August 23, 10:30-11am. Ages Newborn – 2yrs. Siblings are welcome. No registration required.

We’ll sing songs, play and read. It is recommended to bring a blanket for the baby to lie on.

Play Yourself Into Summer!

Did you know that we have a special music collection at the Fraser Public Library? Sitting just before the Reference books you can find books with musical scores in the library. We have lots of titles, such as  the Motown Anthology Rock & Roll from the 80’s, 70’s and 60’s, American Folk Tunes and Mozart just to name a few. So come check us out and play your way into the summer at the Fraser Public Library!

Bookflix

 

 

BookFlix is a digital literacy resource ideal for tablets or computers for children Pre-K – grade 3. Not only will this strengthen literacy in young readers, it will also expose young readers to real world concepts and help to build their comprehension skills. There are digital non-fiction books, author biographies, fiction/non-fiction pairings and interactive games to build vocabulary skills.

There’s No Place Like Space

 

Thursday, July 25 @6:00pm

 

Join us for this Build-a-Martian workshop & storytime. Each child must be accompanied by an adult to assist in the stuffing process. Ages 3-8 yrs. Registration is required and opens on July 1. Due to supplies we ask that you only attend this program once.

The Saucer Life

America’s Profound, Strange, and Amusing Relationship with UFOs

 

From Roswell to Area 51, the American public and the American media have been fascinated with the possibility that beings from other planets have been in contact with us. This presentation explores the history of American hopes and fears about alien visitation and the ways that these things reflect the ways in which American culture and society have changed over the last 70 years. This is for teens and adults. Registration is required.

 

 

Make Space for Honey Bees

Saturday, August 3 @ 1pm

Thornapple Woodlands will be here to teach us about the three types of bees in a hive and their respective roles. We will also get to examine live bees in an observation hive and taste some honey! This is a family friendly presentation. Registration is required and is open now.

 

 

Fizzy Science

Wednesday, August 7 @ 2pm

Children ages 5-12 yrs old will complete fun, hands on experiments that fizz, pop and bubble! Registration is required and opens on July 22.

Magic the Gathering

 

The library will be hosting a Magic the Gathering event, open to the general public. This event will be open for players of all skill levels. Starter decks will be available for those who need cards. This is a drop in event.
